Custom Bottle Caps
Design Suggestions
Here are a few suggestions from our Crafty Cap Specialists on the best types of designs.
- Colored backgrounds are pretty, however making something over that
design more of a focal point really brings out the finished cap. Try
adding a picture, clipart or jpg design behind your desired words,
slogan or brewery. See our Past Examples for more ideas.
- Please remember these designs are shrinking down to a 1" diameter
circle, words are a little harder to read when too many are required on
the top of your cap. Try fewer words and more logo or design
background.
- If you'd like to create your own design to use, please work with a 1.02" diameter circle. The 0.02" is for a slight bleed allowance and will not appear on your caps. We suggest 300px or more for the best quality.
- Colors may vary. Check out our "Choosing Image Colors" section below for more advice. If you are worried about a specific color, try
asking for a sample if it is not offered. We offer samples for 50 cap
orders or more.
- If you want your image to really stand out, try using our dark blue, red, dark green or black colored caps. Most designs really pop
against the deepest colored caps. For images that blend in a little
more, try gold or silver. Black is good for either, the blending will
depend more on your desired design.
- If you have questions or do not care for the designs we work on or send
you, PLEASE feel free to let us know! This is YOUR cap, YOUR design,
YOUR order, we are here to make it perfect for you.
Choosing Image Colors
Surprisingly, it's not hard to create a harmonious color scheme when you have the right tool--a color wheel. Although the color wheel is pretty limited when compared to all the colors found in nature, it's also extremely simplistic, which can be a really good thing.
Complementary color schemes utilize colors opposite each other on the color wheel like yellow and purple, orange and blue, red and green.
A triadic color scheme involves the creation of a color triangle such as red, blue and yellow, or green, violet and orange.
All colors really POP after the caps have been sealed. The only color idea we suggest against is a lot of pinks or reds, with white backgrounds or caps. Since red toned ink is so vibrant, it may slightly tint the white colors in your image.
Please request a sample if you would like to use these colors for a large quantity order.
